Sony’s Vegas Movie Studio Platinum is a video authoring suite of tools for Windows. It enables the users to create DVDs with professional and high quality videos. It accepts all the common video formats, captures video and also accepts High Definition video which is a plus.

In this version HDV/AVCHD capture option is improved for faster reading, plus it supports MPJEG-encoded AVI files. It now opens the audio streams of MPEG-2 files that use stereo AC-3 encoding, M2TS files. Ultimately, it can be used in Windows 7.
Although it offers quite a set of video and audio editing tools it crashes when having to render large files and crashes most of the times when working on HD video.
